The Greater Hartford Alliance of Black School Educators presents an Annual Lou Irvin
Education Award. The Award aids rising juniors and seniors in college who have been
accepted into their school’s teacher certification program. The award will be given to
deserving students of color from Connecticut. We are most interested in reaching and
assisting those students who have demonstrated academic promise, are well-rounded
individuals, and have financial need.
Applications for the Award will be available at this site in January of 2027. Please check
back at that time.
